FAQs
How do I become a patient?
To get started on the healing journey, you can schedule a complimentary, 15 minute consultation with us. At the visit you will discuss your health concerns to make sure that the care we provide fits your health needs.
Alternatively, if you are ready to begin care, you could start by filling out the New Patient Membership Form and tell us about your health concerns. Once you fill out the form, a patient care coordinator will be in touch with you within a few days to schedule your first appointment.
Do you accept insurance?
At the Well Care Solutions does not participate with any insurance carrier. We cannot submit medical claims on your behalf, nor assist you with claim resolution. You are responsible for submitting any claims to your insurance company.
All services are strictly on a self-pay basis. We do accept HSA/FSA and Care credit cards.
Can the provider(s) At the Well be my primary care provider?
No, I require that you have your own primary care physician. While I am trained in primary care, I do not provide acute care services. I will work with you closely as a consultant and coach in preventive, nutritional and functional medicine to help you address the roots of chronic health problems. I can confer with your primary care doctor if required.
What do I need to do before my appointment?
Please fill out the medical questionnaire/consent forms that pertain to your appointment type. You can find these forms on your patient portal.
Do you Work with children?
I will see strictly adults, but may consider an older child (16 and up) on a case by case basis.
I’m scared this isn’t going to work or maybe this isn’t right for me. Any reassurance?
Functional Medicine is a different way to examine and improve your overall health and thankfully awareness of the benefits of Functional Medicine are starting to be understood. I would highly recommend a quick 15 chat to talk about if Functional Medicine is right for you. Additionally, there are multiple podcasts available which encompasses the “practice” of Functional Medicine. One of my favorites includes “The Doctor’s Farmacy” with Mark Hyman, MD.
How long are appointment times?
A complimentary consultation is 15 minutes and free to you. First full appointment for intake will be up to 1 hour, you will be given virtual paperwork to fill out prior to appointment. The “review of findings” appointment to review labs and kickstart your treatment plan will be up to 1 hour. Follow up visits will be up to 30 min for the remainder of 5 months, with 2 visits per month.
Can I use my HSA/FSA?
Yes! Because this is considered a medical service, your Health Savings Account (HSA) and Flexible Savings Account (FSA) qualify for any services related to At the Well Care Solutions and receipt will be given for your records.
Are refunds available?
Because this is a medical practice, refunds are not accepted. If labs or supplements will need to be refunded, we can work together with the company used to obtain a refund.
How will I get my supplements?
Supplement recommendations will be given during your visits with a prescribed regimen for you to order at your discretion. The supplements will then be drop shipped to your home.
Are ALL visits virtual?
Yes, thankfully virtual visits offer flexibility to both the patient and provider. This allows provider access throughout the state of Louisiana and patient flexibility to attend without a commute.
How often will labs need to be repeated?
This will depend on what is being monitored. Some labs are only obtained one time (genetics) while others may need repeated to track progress.
Do you see patients across the United States?
As of right now, no, only in the state of Louisiana due to licensure and legality purposes.
Do you see Medicare patients?
If you are under Medicare, additional paperwork may be required to “opt out of Medicare services” for these programs due to Medicare rules and regulations.
Will you be prescribing medications?
Prescriptive medications may be used in your care plan, however, the primary goal is to optimize your body as naturally as possible.
Will you remove medications prescribed by another provider?
Prescription medications will NOT be removed if prescribed by another provider. Whomever is the prescriber for your medication will be managing that entity and removing the medication will be at the discretion of said provider.
Will you refill medications from another provider?
The prescriber of your medication is responsible for refills.
I have tests from my primary care provider, specialists or other functional medicine practitioners. Can I bring those to my appointment?
Yes! This is encouraged to save you on costs of other tests and will help put the pieces together of your overall health.
I finished my 5 months and I want to continue appointments to maintain my health. Is this possible?
Yes! After 5 months are completed, we can discuss what your needs will be to maintain your wellness.
