I am a family nurse practitioner with experience as an NP since 2018.  Both my bachelors & master’s degrees in Nursing were obtained from Northwestern State University, where I graduated Suma Cum Laude.  I have worked for over 16 years in healthcare specialties including Cardiology, ICU, Anesthesia, and Neurosurgery.  I earned my functional medicine certification from the Functional Medicine Academy and love helping people to live a fuller, better quality of life.  In my free time, I enjoy serving in my local church, hiking, drinking coffee, and spending time with my family.

What I have learned from my clinical experience is that listening, empathy, and tending to a patient’s basic human needs make the biggest difference. Sometimes a patient just needs someone to talk to, offer some comforting words, or provide accurate advice with a kind and informed perspective for their specific situation. Healthcare NEEDS to be personal and individualized to be effective.

When I left my last full time position, my goal was to help people prevent illness from a “root-cause” perspective rather than doing damage control in the aftermath of one. My passion is helping others, specifically those who want to help themselves. I love to love others.  And I would love to help you.

Practicing Functional Medicine allows me the time to provide the most individualistic care, without the restrictions of health insurance companies or anyone else. I want to offer a different perspective on health.  I have personal experience with health issues that were resolved through functional medicine, so I can understand what you’re going through and empathize with you.

Here at the Well, we hear you and we believe you. Because I am so passionate about disease prevention from a root cause perspective, I offer a free 15-minute consultation to help you decide if Functional Medicine is the best next step in your health endeavors.

Because Functional Medicine is not designed to replace Western Medicine, it is expected each patient will continue to have a close relationship with their primary care providers as well as any needed specialists. Collaboration may be required as a part of patient management due to discoveries revealed within your care that might need urgent medical attention.
